Welcome to Tillo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tillo email service, including our website, applications, temporary email, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you are agreeing to these Terms on behalf of a company, organisation, or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity. If you do not have such authority, you may not use the Service.
1. Users of the Services
The Service is provided exclusively to individuals who are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.
The Service is for persons or legal entities. Accounts registered by "bots" or other automated methods are not authorised and will be terminated.
2. Description of the Service
Tillo provides an email service that includes:
- Tillo email addresses — You may register for an email address on our domain (e.g. username@tillo.lol) and use it to send and receive email.
- Inbox, send, and organise — Sending and receiving messages; organising mail using folders, labels, archive, spam, and trash; saving drafts; searching messages.
- Folder rules — Optional rules to automatically sort incoming mail (e.g. by sender domain, sender address, or subject) into folders you create.
- Email aliases — The ability to add additional email addresses linked to your account for sending and receiving, subject to our policies.
- Account features — Profile (name, avatar), password management, recovery email for account recovery, and optional identity verification where we offer it.
- AI-assisted features — Optional tools such as email summarisation and AI-assisted spam classification. These use third-party AI systems; we do not guarantee accuracy or availability.
- Temporary (disposable) email — We may offer a separate temporary email experience for short-term, disposable addresses. Use of that feature is subject to these Terms and any additional notice on that product.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. Descriptions of the Service on our website or in-app are for information only and do not create additional contractual commitments unless we expressly state otherwise in writing.
3. Registration and Tillo Addresses
To create an account you typically verify an external email address and choose a Tillo address (e.g. a username on our domain). We may check that requested addresses are appropriate (including using automated or third-party tools). We may reject or revoke addresses that are reserved, blacklisted, misleading, offensive, or otherwise unsuitable. You may not hold multiple accounts for the same use without our permission. You must provide accurate information; we may suspend or terminate accounts that are fraudulent or in breach of these Terms.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction to consent to use online services) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
5. Account and Security
You must provide accurate and complete information when you create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.
You may update your profile, change your password, and set a recovery email through the Service. Account deletion is permanent; once your account is deleted, we may delete or anonymise your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for backing up any content you wish to keep before closing your account.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the Service to send spam, bulk unsolicited email, phishing, malware, or any harmful or fraudulent content
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
- Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights (including anti-spam and data protection laws)
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or our providers
- Use the Service for any purpose that is abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Use temporary or disposable email features to abuse signup or verification flows of third-party services
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. If you become aware of phishing or abuse involving the Service, please report it to us (e.g. via any designated reporting address we publish).
7. Your Content and Data
You retain ownership of the content you create and the emails you send and receive through the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to host, store, process, and transmit your content as necessary to provide and operate the Service (including features such as search, folders, spam filtering, and AI-assisted summarisation or classification), as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your content. Our use of third-party services (e.g. for hosting, email delivery, or AI) is subject to their respective terms and policies; we require them to process data in accordance with our instructions and applicable law where relevant.
8. AI and Automated Features
The Service may include AI-powered or automated features (such as email summarisation or spam classification). These features may use third-party AI or other automated systems. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of such features. They are provided for convenience only and are not a substitute for your own judgment. We are not liable for any decisions you make or actions you take in reliance on AI-generated or automated output. We may modify or discontinue these features at any time.
9. Temporary (Disposable) Email
Where we offer a temporary or disposable email product, it is intended for short-term use (e.g. to avoid sharing your primary address). Temporary addresses may be shared, recycled, or discontinued; we do not guarantee delivery, retention, or confidentiality for any particular period. Do not use temporary email for sensitive or important communications. Use of temporary email remains subject to these Terms and our Acceptable Use policy.
10. Third-Party Services
We use third-party services for infrastructure, email delivery, authentication, AI, and other operations. Your use of the Service may involve processing by those providers in accordance with our Privacy Policy and their terms. We are not responsible for the performance, availability, or practices of third-party services. Where a third-party service is required for a feature (e.g. AI summarisation), that feature may be unavailable if the provider is down or we discontinue the integration.
11. Our Service — Availability and Changes
We strive to provide a reliable email service but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it, including specific features or integrations) at any time, with or without notice. We may also impose limits on storage, sending, or other usage. We are not liable for any loss of data or functionality resulting from such changes, except where required by applicable law.
12. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, and underlying technology (excluding your content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written consent. The Tillo name and branding are our property.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service (including reliance on AI or automated features, or unavailability of the Service or third-party integrations). Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time (including via account deletion where we offer it). We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may delete or retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including liability limitations and indemnification) shall survive.
16. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last modified" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service and may close your account.
17. General
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law principles.
18. Contact
